Geared towards professionals providing clinical services, this webinar presents information on confidentiality and counseling ethics as they relate to issues of violence against women. Participants taking this webinar will be provided with an overview of the NJ state and federal laws regarding ethics and confidentiality, as well as some of the policy statements on ethics from major professions, including social work and psychology. This webinar will also examine appropriate methods of record keeping and mandatory reporting issues when working with survivors of violence, as well as issues relevant to on-line counseling and other cyber communication. Participants will also learn about the importance of maintaining boundaries and the difference between consultation, supervision and violating confidentiality.
