Complex Trauma has only recently been added to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and such trauma in children is often the result of multiple ACEs and toxic stress. There is a large literature on Developmental Trauma Disorder, the consequence ACEs and complex trauma in young children, but this has not yet been included in any diagnostic system. The lack of recognition of this condition is addressed, along with developing treatment models.
