Case Management practice is based on two important principles. The first involves respect and support for independence. The second involves the principle of using the least restrictive alternative in helping clients with lifestyle changes. You will learn practical skills such as: 1) making realistic plans with the client; 2) determining the frequency and nature of client contacts needed to implement the case plan; 3) using existing support systems; 4) addressing cultural and ethnic factors; 5) ongoing assessment; 6) networking effectively with other agencies; 7) clarifying respective roles; and 8) scheduling case management time and case recording. About the Instructor

Robin C. Wiley, MSW, DSW is a licensed clinical social worker who received a BA in Social Work from Virginia State University, an MSW, and DSW from Rutgers University. Dr. Wiley has over 24 years of experience serving individuals and families who are addressing various emotional difficulties and life stressors. Much of her work with older adults focuses on bringing attention to specific concerns they encounter and informing professionals and family members about how to be supportive.
