Ethics Essentials in Geriatric Care
Participants will learn to recognize ethical dilemmas in both every day and biomedical situations, especially those dilemmas commonly arising in geriatric care, and will practice methodologies for ethical decision-making. Topics will include ethical principles and values, best practices for advanced directives, weighing benefits and burdens, substituted judgment, ethics committees, and the NJ POLST: Practitioners Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatments.
