About the Instructor

Ted Alter, Ph.D., MSW, ACSW, is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Stockton University. Dr. Alter has over 40 years post-masters experience in the field of social work, His professional experience includes being the Director of Social Work and Discharge Planning at two NYC hospitals. Additionally, Dr. Alter has extensive experience in the area of gerontology as Director of Resident Care Services in a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). Dr. Alter is a fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine, a member of NASW and the Gerontological Society of America, and a reviewer for the Journal of Social Work Practice.
