Gender and power-based violence is a major health and safety issue around the world. Social Workers and others within helping professions will encounter individuals who have experienced or committed forms of power or gender-based violence in their lifetimes. Yet, there is often a lack of understanding about these forms of violence, why they occur and the impact on individuals and society at large.
