Supporting Families through Change

The arrival of a child with a developmental disability has life-long implications for the family. This workshop will examine important transitions across the lifespan of individuals with disabilities in the context of their family and community. Discussion will include initial diagnosis, entrance into education and adult services, and how these stages impact the family system. Effective ways to support families as they go through these stages will also be examined. [Required for Developmental Disabilities Certificate Program]
