Peri and Postmenopausal Phases of Life: It's More than Hormones, Sadness, Tight Pants, and Hot Flashes

The average age of menopause is 51, and the average life span for women in the United States is approximately 80 years. This means that a large portion of a woman’s life will be spent post-menopausal. This is a period of time in which we see increased risks for depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. This webinar will focus on what happens during this phase of life, what changes can occur, and some of the currently recognized cultural, racial, and ethnic differences in how women experience menopause. Participants will be introduced to available treatment approaches that include both traditional medical and alternative medicine options. Additionally, this program will include resources/supports that are available for social workers and the women clients that they serve.

This webinar does not have any offerings for this semester.
