Working with the Body Online: A Contemporary Gestalt Therapy Approach

ID: 5339WEB

This webinar draws on contemporary gestalt therapy to work with the body experientially. Since the pandemic, many of us have moved to working online. Working with the body online presents challenges. Gestalt therapists have particular interest and training in moment-to-moment awareness and bodily resonances (noticing micro-movements or subtle, energetic shifts, intuitive bodily awareness, and experimenting with these sensibilities). We will discuss possible ways to work with the body online in the here-and-now with our clients.

, This webinar will explore the contemporary gestalt therapy concepts of embodiment, aesthetic relational knowledge, presence, the between, and absence. As a phenomenological psychotherapy, we will invite attendees to explore their lived bodily experience. There will be opportunities for clinical and theoretical discussion and participants will be invited to explore movement online, including how this may be used within their own remote clinical practice.
